Week 2

Well, what a nice week we've had here.
+35˚C in the shade with the highest temp here in Gerona on Wednesday: 40˚C!
Lovely to train in with your black, full body covered jumpsuit on. (sweating all over the place)
We had to walk from shade to shade, because of the sun, while walking to the plane or creeping area.
We've been making around 80jumps so far, with 1 more training day to go; probably we leave back to Belgium with +90 jumps. (some very high quality jumps).

Next week we will be training at DZ Schaffen (our home dz) for some extra helicopter jumps before taking the trip to Taiwan, were we will be jumping in the city of Kaohsiung.
For the World Games, were the top 5 country's will be competing against each other.
France, USA, Norway, Russia and Belgium.
It's going to be an exciting event, that's for sure.
We will be jumping the Kawasaki Helicopter with the Chinook as back-up load.
Landing and departure will be at the Metropolitan park in city centre.

Departure in Brussels on the 13th of July.
Flying from Brussels to Frankfurt and then to Hong-Kong and so on to Kaohsiung.
Competition will start from 17 July till 20 July.

Week 1

The first week is just over; it's getting very busy here in Empuria, with 5; 4-way teams and 1; 8-way team.
A lot of people for just 1 Twin Otter, even when you know that Babylon is also training for the World Games in 3 weeks in Taiwan.
The days take even longer, since the manifest is busy as well with all the tandems and AFF courses.
Luckily they are jumping the Pilatus.

We trained on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and today.
During the day it's beautiful weather with more than 30˚C and when the evening is falling, a thunderstorm is passing by!
Anyway we did 35 jumps so far, caused by winds and slow manifest. (it doesn't help if you can do 4 jumps in a row, and from there on do 1 jump and 1 break in between. SLOOOOW!)
For now, we have a 2 day break, and continue again on Monday.

Just arrived at Empuriabrava

What a terrible trip we had from Schaffen to Empuria.
Because of an obstruction on the Belgian Highways (farmers closing the highways; as they did in Brussels last week), we arrived with an extra delay of 2h30.

The plan for tomorrow and the rest for the week, is to do some competition draws, and from there on look, were we still need to work on. Block exits and/or random jumps.

Goodnight
